  • Long Weekend!

So we have arrived at the cottage in Wasaga Beach, Ontario. First, I was not sure what I would find, usually Adam’s family prefers a more high-end resort type vacation, at home in Canada or abroad. But this place is far from resort, it’s homey and comforting. I like it. We are in a “four” bedroom cottage set just off the sixth beach in the area. It’s a cute little red cottage, with wood on the walls and floor throughout, a beautiful fireplace, and a multi-level back yard that spans nearly 4 individual decks toward the beautiful Beach. It was a pretty bad day when we left to head out this way, more particularly rainy and humid. By the time we reached the beach, it was beautiful again. Little humid, lots of sun, and Mel and Steven we are already out in the water having a swim. We arrived around dinner time so we set to making dinner, by the time dinner was over, I looked out the window and realised the sky had opened up and it was raining incessantly. Unfortunately, it seems that all the rain that hit Guelph gradually made its way to Wasaga Beach, and I just hope it lets up tomorrow, although the weather report is not making me excited to wake up tomorrow.

This cottage has a weird layout. The main floor has two small bedrooms with double beds and the ONLY bathroom. Go upstairs and you walk into a attic type room with slanted roof, which the first room you walk into holds two double beds. You then walk into another room, to find two twin beds, and furthermore, you walk through that room to the final room in the back of the house facing the water that has two twins again. If you are counting, this house can house TWELVE people, and has only one bathroom! I think its insanity, but it’s so quaint and cute.

Adam and I were hoping to get some alone time, as we are shortly back from our wedding weekend, and haven’t had much fun time alone. I love my friends and I would love to spend every waking moment with them it’s just been pretty bad since we’ve both been sick since the wedding. We will sleep in the same room as Mel and Steven tonight since they told us the room near the back of the cottage with the twin beds had serious flying ant issues. Bugs are not my forte, as you may have already figured out throughout my blog rants from previous.

All-in-all, today was a rush of a day, but I’m glad its over, and that I can sleep my night away and wake up to a lovely day of rest and relaxation tomorrow.
