    Another shitty sick weekend

    Saturday, January 15, 2011
Another shitty, sick weekend, is here and half way over. I am in no means a half-glass empty person, but I just can't seem to be positive when I might cough up a lung at any second not to mention, a couple teeth.

Adam worked all day today and has to work half the day tomorrow as well. SO... here I am, I guess I'll chill by myself and do some studying right.... wrong. Lucy won't give me the time to get to sitting down and concentrating since shes going nuts.  I have been sick for the past two weeks and haven't been that socially available to her, so now I think shes going nuts and its boiling down to that shes not stimulated enough.

Kinda hoped Adam would have been home to entertain her for a bit while I got caught up on my psychology stuff, but alas, he had to work, so crazyface and I bickered and bit all day. Meh. Then he comes home, and I ask him to entertain her, so he sits on the floor and plays video games. As if sitting on the floor is going to cure her of her need for stimuation, and lots of it. I even tried playing with her today but that didn't work either...so yeah.

Everyone is a little emotionally unavailable now.

I wish my body was unavailable right now, that would be nice. After yesterday with the vomitting and the migraine, stupid blood clots in my wisdom teeth moving and bleeding, fever and the infection with the nausea and diahrea, I am physically spent. I spent the entire day in bed, and didn't go down stairs, partially because I knew I couldn't make it back up the stairs after I made it down here...and my only bathroom is on the second floor...soooo you don't put a diahrea infection girl on the floor without a bathroom with tons of stairs in between said bathroom... Its just common sense.  I probably should have had Adam bring some snacks up for me for the day, because I think I was kind of hungry but all I had in my nightstand was rasins. lol Yah I dont know why I had raisins in there...but I ate those and drank water from the bathroom all day. It was ..gross.

THAN. Adam works late, comes home around 9! yay me! I got to eat soup at 9. first real thing to eat since 7 the following day.  Hes been working late since Thursday, of course. My luck right?

The wisdom teeth thing has been a breeze. Nothing out of the ordinary, as I expected. I have had teeth pulled before, just never been under. I got over it, so its ok. But this cold, its holding me back. I had a fever with it, so I'm a little worried its more than a cold. There's a lot of fluid in my lungs and ears, so I started taking sudafed again, and if its not cleared by monday, I'll have to go to emerge, as any longer and it'll turn into pnumonia again, and I dont want that again. Especially since my immune system is bad right now.  I haven't had this bad a fluid build up since last Augusts pnumonia scare.  YEAH. pnumonia in august. lol only me.

Anyway, off I go, going to do some more reading for school. not much else to do right now!

    Guelph Humane Society Volunteering

    Thursday, June 3, 2010
Lately I have been feeling a little lonesome, missing a little furry four-legged companionship (Yeah, I have two cats but I want one that barks, haha) but it is not the right time for Adam and I to have a dog, nor are we aloud to have dogs in our building (insert frown here).

So I decided that I would volunteer at the local Humane Society here in Guelph.  Adam was worried I would come home with five cats, two dogs and an iguana, but so far, no animals have come home with me.

As much as I love the volunteer experience, it bothers me that their funding is so little.  I feel that the Humane Society deserves more community involvement and support, because they are definitely under funded.

The Guelph Humane Society runs at 166% capacity at any given time throughout the year.  That means that they are severely short staffed and short on space.  God bless them for being so caring and considerate for the animals, but I really think that either the government has to give them more grants and funding, or people need to open their wallets and help out.

They try so hard, and they do such a good job with what they are given, however I think the biggest problem they face at this present time is SPACE!  They have so many cats and dogs they don't know what to do with them.

But you can help!  This June 12th and 13th from 11am to 5pm at Stone Road Mall in Guelph, the Guelph Humane Society is hosting a "Feline Frenzy" Cat Adopt-A-Thon! They are looking for loving homes to come and adopt their cats that are in need of a home. I can vouch that are MANY lovely cats at the Guelph Humane Society right now, that definitely deserve a loving home.  I wish I could take them home as they are just such a joy to spend time with.

If you or someone you know wants to adopt a cat, please come check out the event during the weekend of June 12th and 13th to meet some of the great critters that are up for adoption.

If you aren't from the Guelph area, your local Humane Society also needs help, I assure you.  Please donate your time and money to them as they greatly need your help!
